The Innovation Pole of Genetic Genomics and Biology (Polo GGB) is a specialized center in the field of Life Sciences that was established in 2011. It offers customized services in genetic analysis to universities, industries, and diagnostic laboratories. Polo GGB operates in three locations in Italy, each equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The first location is in Siena, at the Tuscany Life Sciences Foundation, which houses diagnostic laboratories, medical genetics, occupational medicine, genomics, and bioinformatics. The other two locations in Terni host immunology, ecology, and genetics laboratories.

In 2021, the Siena office received official accreditation for outpatient procedures in Microbiology and Virology. The GGB Cluster collaborates with renowned international partners such as the Pasteur Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Imperial College of London. They engage in significant research projects funded by the European Community, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). In June 2023, Polo GGB became a member of the Bio4Dreams  network.
