Omnibus Decree: Reporter’s Amendment Approved to Save Santa Lucia

Salvitti (FdI): Continuity Guaranteed. Rocca: Essential Facility

(ANSA) – ROME, Sept 29 – The Budget and Finance Committees of the Senate have approved an amendment to the Omnibus Decree by Fratelli d’Italia senator Giorgio Salvitti, aimed at saving the Santa Lucia Foundation. “The proposal that was approved today,” explained Salvitti, “grants the right of first refusal for the purchase of the hospital, specialized in neuromotor rehabilitation, to the Enea Tech and Biomedical Foundation, which acts through the creation of a non-profit entity, partnered with the Lazio Region. Through precise legislative measures, we ensure the continuity of specialized services, safeguard workers, and protect citizens. We could not allow such a healthcare center of excellence in Lazio to close due to significant financial distress. After the talks with the Ministry of Enterprises last summer, and the extraordinary funding of 11 million euros from the Meloni government, which allowed the clinic to continue operating stably, this is yet another concrete step to protect a quality healthcare facility.”

The president of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, expressed “great satisfaction with the approval in the Senate’s 5th and 6th Committees of the amendment to the Omnibus Decree that will allow us to safeguard an excellence like Santa Lucia. We have been following this path with care for months.
