On Monday, September 30th, in Parma, the inauguration of the Biotech Center of Excellence by Chiesi Farmaceutici will take place, located at Via San Leonardo 96, next to the company’s production site. This new center of excellence will be dedicated to the development and production of biological drugs, managing the entire process, from cell cultures to the production and packaging of medicines for global distribution. The works, which began in November 2022, involved an initial investment of €85 million, allocated to infrastructure, the construction of the center, and the installation of cutting-edge machinery.

The Biotech Center represents an innovative example of integration between research, development, and production, aiming at future medicine capable of addressing new therapeutic needs, with a particular focus on patients affected by rare diseases. The center will employ one hundred specialized experts. The inauguration, reserved for invitees and not open to the public, will see the participation of prominent institutional figures, including the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, and the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci.
