The funding will support research and development initiatives and the extension of its production facility, further solidifying its position as an industry leader.

Founded in 2001 in Morra De Sanctis, Avellino, Altergon Italia was established by Salvatore Cincotti, who, after an extensive international career spanning China and Switzerland, chose to build an innovative pharmaceutical company in Italy instead of following the widespread trend of outsourcing production abroad.

Altergon Italia has gained global recognition thanks to its high-tech facilities and advanced manufacturing processes, strengthened through collaborations with academia and research institutions. The company specializes in hydrogel medicated patches and highly purified hyaluronic acid, a crucial component in connective tissues used for treating joint diseases and in aesthetic dermatology.

A core aspect of Altergon Italia’s success is its commitment to excellence in production standards. In October 2020, alongside four other companies from the Campania region, Altergon Italia invested €51 million in a state-of-the-art production facility. This investment was supported by Invitalia, which provided nearly €34 million through a development contract, further enhancing the company’s international competitiveness.
